Living on a sustainable ranch, tucked into the mountains of western Colorado, the rhythm of the land guided our way of life. Our family has always worked hard to live close to nature, raising cattle in harmony with the seasons and stewarding the landscape with care. Every spring, one of our biggest undertakings was the cattle drive—moving the herd from ranch headquarters to the distant summer pasture, a trek that took us and our animals across miles of rugged terrain. These are long, full days in the saddle, with the whole family involved, and our loyal ranch dogs right there with us, weaving through the herd, always eager, always working.

We’d pack energy bars in our saddlebags to keep ourselves fueled, but we realized the dogs needed sustenance too. Tossing them scraps didn’t cut it—they deserved better. That’s when the idea for Powerpup dog energy bars began to take shape.

Back in our kitchen, right here in Santa Fe, we started hand-baking small batches using the same principles we lived by on the ranch: all-natural, organic ingredients, and biodegradable packaging that wouldn’t leave a trace behind on the trails or pastures. Powerpup was born out of necessity, but it quickly became a reflection of our values—caring for our land, our animals, and the connection we share with them. It’s more than just a snack. It’s nourishment for the journey, fuel for the bond between people and their dogs, and a piece of ranch life we’re proud to share with other adventurers out in the wild.
